After having various experiences with several music genres, SERI (formerly known as LALA) became very versatile but her love is still Pop. The range of learning and musical challenges is never enough for her. SERI joined a Chinese singing talent contest put on by a major Chinese TV network station, FAIRCHILD TV, in Canada. SERI competed and sang in Mandarin and Cantonese. Because she is westernized and did not speak Cantonese or Mandarin well, SERI worked very hard learning the songs phonetically and won second place in the contest. The contest had national radio, television, and print media coverage, and SERI was immediately recognized and became popular in the Chinese community across Canada. She continued to develop her relationship with Fairchild Television. Very shortly after the contest, SERI entered DAVID FOSTER'S MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION TALENT SEARCH and was one of the 10 finalist in the Vancouver region. She sang for DAVID FOSTER, SUE FOSTER, CLAY AIKEN, and BABYFACE. SERI was greatly inspired by this experience.

It was not until October 2006, that SERI made her biggest move in her music career. She completed her Masters degree in Education, left her music elementary teaching position at the time and the gigs she did singing at weddings, funerals, community, corporate and educational functions. SERI moved to New York to pursue her music career. SERI has made several connections working with other major production teams and producers in New York. She is now showcasing her originals, appearing on radio and music videos, recording and collaborating with other artists and musicians, DJs, choreographers, dancers and gigging with wedding/corporate cover bands. In February 2007, SERI came in second place at THE VERIZON SING CONTEST put on in the Chinese New Year Chinatown Parade in New York. She will be performing for the 2010 parade again in February. She has also revisited her involvement (as a solo artist) with Claviscape, LLC in Connecticut where her single called “Shooting Stars” is released.

In August 2007, SERI opened up for award winning singer/songwriter, MICHAEL MCDONALD, DAVY JONES from THE MONKEES, MICHAEL BOLTON, DRU HILL, and ARETHA FRANKLIN. SERI also recently won 1st place in an industry showcase competition put on by SRC UNIVERSAL RECORDS.

On Jan 2, 2009, SERI kicked off the New Year by performing the National Anthem at NJ NETS first game of the year at IZOD Centre in New Jersey - broadcast on FOX SPORTS, YESHD, and BLOOMBERG RADIO. Her songs are also played on various SATELILLITE RADIO STATIONS, COLLEGE RADIO, ONLINE RADIO, MIXTAPES AND CLUBS throughout the U.S., Asia, and Europe. Her R&B single, “This Is Why I Fell” received a great response from over 400 DJs and Radio hosts via Digiwaxx Media LLC. In March and April 2009, SERI's songs are in rotation on ITUNES RADIO JAMZ HITS 1FM.

Vibrant with the diverse scenes and audiences in New York, SERI performed at various Gay clubs in New York, LGBT venues, events, and Pride festivals last year throughout the States where she receives a great response. This experience made SERI turn more towards Dance music. She began working with various dance producers and DJs and landed a single “I Will Never Forget You” on BPM and OUTQ Sirius XM radio, Party 105.3 FM and other stations within the U.S. and in Europe. It is currently still playing on stations. With this immediate buzz, SERI and ManiaCalm productions, have been offered various deals by labels. Near Christmas of December 2009, the single signed with Red Stick/Strictly Rhythm Records. This impressive debut, finishing at number 7 on BPM's top 50 of 2010 (Sirius Radio), number 8 on AOL's top 10 Dance songs of 2010 and peaking at #5 on Hot Dance Radio Airplay for Billboard Magazine in July, 2010.

In January, 2011, SERI continued to work with ManiaCalm and co-wrote a second single “I Miss You” (ManiaCalm Ft. LALA). Next Plateau Entertainment (home of Salt N’ Pepper and Nina Sky) signed the single and this year, plans to promote the record further. The single is playing on BPM XM Sirius and various other Dance radio stations. Reviews of the single and article features on SERI have been appearing on various LGBT newspapers, magazines, and online radio stations throughout the States such as Out at Night Magazine, Florida Agenda Newspaper, Out and About live radio, and much more.

Last year, SERI signed to Big Management. She changed her name from LALA to SERI recently when she signed to Armada Records for a single release with DJ Markus Schulz (ranked top 10 DJs in the world). This new single will be released in August 31st, 2012 called “Love Rain Down” (Markus Schulz Ft. SERI). She will be performing the release at Mansion Club in Miami.

SERI is driven to become a success story. An interviewer once asked her what fuels her to be so unstoppable and driven, and SERI answered, “God has given me a talent, and I am going to take it to the fullest!”

Keep an eye out for her upcoming shows in the NYC area.
